Jolly old Santa – not! Last chance @ #99cents #MFRWauthor #SnippetSunday

Happy holiday weekend to those of you celebrating the 4th of July and Canada Day! Today’s Snippet Sunday celebrates a different holiday: Christmas. Here’s a peek at my Entangled Bliss, Snowbound with Mr. Wrong, which is on sale for $.99 through today.

Our hero, Nick – otherwise known as Santa – is the star of a children’s Christmas party. Unfortunately, he’s not having a very jolly time…

“The phone’s dead,” Nick announced. “Maybe it’s the battery. Isn’t there another extension in the kitchen?” After taking only two steps in that direction, he caught the look on Lyssa’s face and braked to a stop. “What’s going on?”

“The snowstorm hit sooner than expected. We’ve all got to get out of here in a hurry.”

Now he noticed the activity of the other adults around them. They were quietly rounding up kids and putting them into jackets and hats and mittens.

When Lyssa slipped away again, he stalked over to the window, pushed aside the thermal drapes, and stared through the glass. Though it was only mid-afternoon, he could see nothing but a cloud of sun-sparkled white flakes swirling in the wind.

Okay… Think this through.

The airport was an hour away from the lodge and out of the path of the anticipated storm. No trouble with the main roads en route, no problem with getting to the airport to catch his flight on time. All he had to do was find a way to get off this mountain.

From the cover:

Worst. Day. Ever. After Lyssa Barnett’s sister tricks her into reprising her role at Snowflake Valley’s annual children’s party, she doesn’t think anything can be worse than squeezing into her too-small elf costume. Then tall, dark, and way too handsome Nick Tavlock shows up to play Santa…and an unexpected storm leaves them snowbound in the isolated lodge.

The last thing Nick wants is to spend a cozy Christmas Eve with a trio of kids and the woman who dumped him. But as much as Lyssa frustrates him, he can’t stop thinking about her. And soon, he’s fighting very un-Santa-like thoughts of kissing a certain sexy Miss Elf under the mistletoe. As Nick starts to fall for Lyssa all over again, he knows it will take nothing short of a miracle to have Lyssa in his arms on Christmas Day.
