A dangerous place to be #smalltownromance #sweetromance #99centsSale
Someone recently asked me about my favorite story backdrop, and if you’ve read any of my books – or even wandered around my website – you’ll already know my answer:
Small towns.
I love, love, love reading and writing small-town romance because basically, in the space of a tight-knit community, romance and relationships and conflict have nowhere else to go. All those elements have to be faced and challenged and resolved head-on.
Then of course in a small town there’s the added complication of being unable to avoid loving – and not-so-loving – family members and friends. That adds drama and conflict to any story.
In One Week to Win Her Boss, Michael DeFranco learns more than he wants to know about all of the above. When he enters into a “relationship” pact to help his assistant, Amber Barnett, outmaneuver her well-meaning but meddling family, his good intentions backfire, big-time.
Spoiler alert…well, we probably all know how the story will end. But in a small-town romance, there’s oh-so-much fun along the way!
From the clips below, I think you’ll find many readers agree.
“Heartwarming and charming in every way! It all of a sudden feels like the holidays with this book!”
– Erika C., NetGalley
“A sweet Christmas story in a quaint small town…The story is full of family and small town seasonal festivities.”
