#WednesdayWisdom: Small stones #motivation #quotes #MFRWauthor
I’m reprising a quote I’ve used before because it fits with my life right now. And that’s why some quotes become well-known in the first place, isn’t it, because they speak to many of us on many levels.
This one has been attributed to a handful of people, including William Faulkner, Robert Louis Stevenson, Michelangelo and, my favorite, Confucius:
“The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
Over the past several weeks, my husband’s been home on a staycation, we’ve had a couple of days away, and I’ve been on the run for an annual checkup and a few other appointments.
As you might imagine, this has created a few mountainous roadblocks in my routine. Bills have accumulated, junk mail has piled up, and worst of all, my writing rhythm is way out of sync.
I’m going to follow the advice above by chipping away at these roadblocks and carrying away a few small stones at a time. Pay a few bills, toss out some trash, and get a few words down on paper.
What do you do when a mountain gets in your way?
All my best,
Barbara
