Wednesday Wisdom: Last fool standing
We’re wrapping up our April Fool’s quotes with another good two-for-one:
There are no foolish questions,
and no man becomes a fool until he has stopped asking questions.”
– Charles Proteus Steinmetz
How many times have you heard the first part of that quote? “There are no foolish questions.” Luckily for me, more than one of my grade school teachers used to say that all the time, which made me willing to ask questions in class when other students wouldn’t…which makes me able to ask questions now when other people sometimes won’t.
Questions don’t make us foolish. They inform us. They make us wise. And in many situations, they keep us out of trouble.
Whether or not the other person thinks it’s foolish, I’d rather ask the question than suffer the consequences. Wouldn’t you?
Best,
Barbara
