REBLOGGED 8-1-18 Wednesday Wisdom – Key to Success #MFRWauthor #WednesdayWisdom
Welcome to my blog! If you’re a first-timer here, feel free to look around. This is my space to share writing news, contest and giveaway info, posts from guest authors, anything that strikes me as worthy of note and, of course, this Wednesday Wisdom column.
The quotes shared here are inspirational for me and I hope will be for you, also.
Here’s our quote for today:
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
Albert Schweitzer
This was always true for me and is even more so now I’m a published author. I’ve learned the hard way that if I let my happiness be dictated by the success I see in my career, I will very often be unhappy. Why? Because writing is sometimes a hurry-up-and-wait business.
That’s true of life, too – the long stretches of wait don’t often provide much in the way of success.
We need to make our own successes. A page written. A recipe mastered. A less-hectic route found for your daily commute. Just a quiet dinner at home with your significant other and kids.
Those all sound like successes in my book and are things that would make me happy.
How about you? What happiness do you have in your life right this minute that proves you already hold the key to success?
All my best,
Barbara
