Get going, already! #goals #quote #motivation #MFRWauthor
So far, many of the Wednesday Wisdom columns have talked about taking first steps. Baby steps. Just doing something to get you toward your goal.
Today’s quote is to start you thinking of what goal-setting is all about:
“A year from now you may wish you had started today.”
– Karen Lamb
Serious stuff here—a reminder that if we don’t start and don’t keep going, we’ll never get to where we want to be.
A year sounds like such a long time, and we often think, “I’ll get started tomorrow. Or maybe next week…”
I don’t know about you, but I can easily put things off. And guess what? Tomorrow never comes. Neither does that following week. But sometimes, before we know it, next year arrives and I haven’t taken the first step toward a major goal, let alone accomplished it.
Don’t let that happen to you!
What important goal do you want to achieve by this time next year?
Share it with us, if you like. But in any case, don’t forget to make a note for yourself on your calendar.
And—here and now—promise me you’ll get ‘er done! 😉
Oh my goodness! I needed this post! I’ve been putting things off for over a year now and I’m still wondering why. I need to sell/give up my business (already have a full time job, plus trying to write) but I just can’t bring myself to do it yet. If I still have it by December, please hunt me down and kick my butt!
LeAnne – I’m glad the post hit you when you needed to read it. Year-end is the perfect time to wrap up a project! I’m betting you’ll be fine at tackling yours without reminders. But just in case, I’ll make a note on my calendar. 😉
