The next step on your journey to scheduling success #motivation #inspiration #organization #WednesdayWisdom
This week’s Wednesday Wisdom post is covering the next “step” on your path to scheduling success. (Find part one here.)
Tip #2: Take baby steps.
Break your projects down into smaller pieces. This serves several purposes.
~ If you’re like me, you can easily become overwhelmed by the size of a big project. Dividing it into bite-sized pieces makes the job easier to handle.
~ You may become obsessed over the idea of completing a task in one sitting. That’s often an unreasonable goal. To continue the analogy above, having the steps laid out for you can keep you from biting off more than you can chew.
~ Seeing something checked off on your To-Do list (discussed in Part One) will motivate you to move on to the next step.
~ Finally, working in baby steps helps keep you from going off-track with a project. Tackling one small part of the job at a time gives you the chance to consider the next step before you move forward—and that works whether you’re planning a graduation party or writing the next great novel.
What do you think? Will baby steps work for you?
The next installment of “Scheduling Success” will be posted in September—and will include a fun tip you’re almost guaranteed to love!
