#SnippetSunday Giving him a scare… #MFRWauthor #contemporaryromance
Today’s Snippet Sunday comes from the first chapter of my first book, The Sheriff’s Son.
Sarah and Tanner are in a stand-off over her seven-year-old son’s misbehavior:
“I just wanted to give him a scare, make him think twice before he goes off and does something else he shouldn’t.”
“Just what did he do?”
“Took it upon himself to decorate my car.”
Her heart sank. She sneaked another glance at Tanner. He didn’t look nearly as fierce as he had when he’d first come into the store, Kevin dangling from his fingertips. With any luck, she’d get by with a written warning, instead of a ticket she couldn’t hope to pay. If her son was guilty of the damage.

FYI for those of you visiting for the first time:
The Sheriff’s Son was just re-released in a new larger print and a new e-book edition, both available exclusively at Harlequin‘s website. The original version can still be found at your favorite e-tailers, including Amazon.
If you’d like to read from the opening of the chapter, you can start with the original post and scroll through to today’s. Or start with that post and then click through on the blog titles at the top of your screen for the Snippet Sunday and Teaser Tuesday posts.
Thanks for dropping in for a visit, and have a great Sunday!
All my best,
