On the rebound – Snippet Sunday #MFRWauthor #CowboyinCharge
Some people call lighter fiction and romance novels “escapist literature.” That’s what I’m proud to write.
There are some things in life we want to escape, some memories we long to forget.
As always on this date, my thoughts go out to all of those affected by the tragedy of September 11th, which means all of us, no matter where we live.
In the spirit of escaping into a story, I’m sharing a snippet from my latest romance.

Her friend hesitated, then added, “Layne, don’t get upset, but…did you ever think you might have gotten married the second time because you were on the rebound from Jason?”
She blinked. “No,” she said slowly. “That never occurred to me. But maybe I did. If so, unfortunately, that would only help prove my point about not knowing what’s best. After all, what kind of mother would do that to her child?”
“You’re a great mom. And you were only trying to give your son a daddy.”
“I wish I could convince myself that’s all it was.”
But she knew in her heart it was so much more.
