Monday Mix – The Conference Edition #MFRWauthor #RWA15 #positivity #reality #TheDaille-yNews
Hi, readers! Missed you all this week as the blog went dark while I was on the run.
I’m calling this post at The Daille-y News the Conference Edition.
In a half-dozen days in New York City at the Romance Writers of America’s annual conference, I got together with many long-time friends and met many new ones.
And in case you’re wondering, the literacy autographing was fantastic!
There were tons of workshops and publisher spotlights, fun autographings, huge breakfasts, great lunches, and fabulous dinners. Oh, and a fantabulous publisher party on the rooftop ballroom at the Waldorf Astoria!
There was plenty of talk, talk, TALK – all such great conversations, from industry news and my friends’ career and personal updates to discussions of books and plots and characters.
There were also a few photo ops, which I’ll share with you in future posts.
I came home hoarse, sleep-deprived, jet-lagged, and foot-sore, but I wouldn’t have given up this week for anything!
I also came home to reality….
Attending a conference with writer friends and industry professionals is the most energizing, uplifting, and habit-reinforcing event in the world. The way to get the most out of this week is by making sure the benefits last throughout the year.
How?
It’s simple.
I take that positivity and channel it into the purpose behind it all: going back into my office…with just me and the computer and my characters…and working on another book to share with you.
So my mind is focused again. My feet are on the ground. My hands are on the keyboard.
I’m back to reality.
And it’s my favorite place to be.
All my best,
Great blog. I imagine it was mind draining and a week that just flew by. Glad you are home safe and with new ideas. Would like to experience one of those but not in the cards anymore. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, Diana – the conference is always exhausting both mentally and physically yet so energizing at the same time. It’s hard to describe. The most important thing is, I always come back ready to write – after a good night’s sleep! 😉
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Have a great rest of your week.
