Like mothers with their children, authors should not play favorites when it comes to their characters – or so I’ve always believed. That said, though I love all my heroes and heroines, I’ll confess some of them hold a special place in my heart.

Sam Robertson from A Rancher’s Pride, the first Flagman’s story, is one of those heroes. Not only is Sam abruptly left with the care of a young daughter he’s never know about, he discovers he can’t communicate with her because she’s deaf.

When it comes to scenes in a book, I do freely admit that I have faves. I’m sharing a clip from one of my favorite scenes from A Rancher’s Pride at N. N. Light’s Princess of the Light blog. I hope you’ll drop by and take a peek.
