One unexpected benefit to hitting the mall #retailtherapy #motivation #positivity

Barbara White Daille Posted on June 30, 2018 by Barbara White DailleJune 30, 2018

Walking is said to be one of the best exercises anyone can do.

It’s not often I hit the recommended 10,000 daily steps. But I try – and as the picture above proves, I sometimes succeed!

Confession time: yesterday’s great-for-me count was mostly courtesy of a retail therapy session.  lol

But seriously…for those of us who work at a desk all day (whether in the home or out) or who spend most of the time at home, racking up high step counts is not always easy – unless you make an effort to jump on the treadmill, take a walk, or visit the gym.

Note the “not always” above. I have friends who often (ahem) tell me they manage to do it regularly. And believe it or not, they’re still my friends! 🙂

Being a writer can sometimes lead to low step counts. If your characters refuse to let you abandon them to solve their problems on their own, it’s even more of a struggle to get away from the keyboard or even the brainstorming notebook.

What do you do to add steps or other exercise into your day?

Share your advice with us or not…but I encourage you to think about it.  No, not just THINK but DO it. And I’ll do the same.

We’ll all be better off in the long run…even if that long run is just a walk around the block.
